Back in the saddle again!

Back in the saddle again, I have started studing agian. From the last post many of my distrations have disappared.I have been able to study and finially able to start using cisco for my home internet connection. This has been a huge help with some of the basic trouble shooting issues. The next step is to setup each room on it's own vlan with routing between. Over all it is going well. Tonight is eigrp and frame relay.

AHHHHHHHHHH. I have not had time to do anything, my job is getting busier and requiring more attention. More projects are going on at the old homestead. I am going to have to buckle down for this and start getting some support. I am looking for a local study buddy but have not had any luck.  I have been going through the CBT nuggets and unlike the ICND-1 it is not going well. I will post more later but just posting gives me more focus on what I have to study.

Thanks

Wow I havent had any time for studying, work has been crazy. Now I am ready to go. I got through chapter one and the first couple of lessons on CBT Nuggets. Tonight I am now going to reread chapter 1 and do all of the exercises. I have the rest of this week and then I will be in a class about a week, so no studying. It looks like I will push my date back to April 20th before I attempt the test. I have started with the Cisco Packet tracer and have finished the review from the ccent book. My goal is to set up a production network at the house so I can get some hands on experience. I will be trying to post every day this week and then will have to take a break next week. I also saw that 3 people saw this blog and that is more than I ever thought.

Thanks

So, I have been doing a lot of soul searching for what I want to specialize in. I had a few choices, but none have stood out as much as Cisco. So then the question is "How far to go?" should I end at CCNP or go all the way to CCIE? Should I go for more than one CCIE or just the routing and switching. Well the answer is to go all the way. This blog will document my journey from the start CCNA to the almighty CCIE. At this time I have my CCENT and will be working on taking the ICND-2. This will also be a place for me document the creation of my home lab. This will be a daily post as the plan is to take my ICND-2 on April 10th 2013.

So looking at the ICND-2 Official Exam Certification Guide, I will read one chapter a night along with one section of the CBT Nuggets. This is the same as for my CCENT. Depending on cost I might continue to use packet tracer and the 1720's that my company has to loan.

I start my studying tonight with chapter 1 and understanding vlan's :)
